Our Impact
Fitness
Kids need activity. Movement is shown to improve not only physical fitness, but emotional wellness and mental function as well. Kids involved in activities are happier, healthier and more social.
Physically, gymnastics creates stronger bones and muscles, increases flexibility and improves endurance, coordination and agility.
Our team gymnasts regularly achieve the highest scores in physical fitness testing at their schools.
Faith
Though we are diverse in many ways, we all compete with one purpose — to glorify God. Our Team Motto is “All For God” based on Colossians 3:23.
After every single class, all of our students leave the gym by telling us “God made me special with a purpose and plan for my life.”
We believe that claiming this important truth will increase their hope and empower them.
“I feel happy when I say it out loud,” Aleeyah, age 13.
Future
We continually provide opportunities for our students to achieve skills they once thought to be impossible. They are learning to “aim high” through proper progressions, determination and positive thinking.
This sense of accomplishment builds confidence in the gym and in their everyday lives.
Since we began our competitive team in 2008, our gymnasts have represented Aim High locally, regionally, and nationally. We have had 5 Regional Champions since 2015.
Many of our former gymnasts are high school and collegiate cheerleaders and gymnastics coaches.
Sheridan, who started with Aim High in 2008, became a member of the University of Oklahoma Women’s Gymnastics Team. During her time at OU, she became a two-time NCAA National Champion! Sheridan became the Head Coach at Aim High in 2024.
Our competitive team of 60 gymnasts features girls from all backgrounds of life. Members include gymnasts from North Tulsa and South Tulsa and everywhere in between. The diversity of our students is a picture of Heaven. They all work side by side — black, white, asian, hispanic, scholarship, and non-scholarship.
